There are many books out there to choose from, so why this one?
Simply put, Ada is a good girl. That's not to say she's not rough around the edges, but she truly has a heart of gold, it just takes a bit to get through to it. Rarely before has there been written a book that shows such growth and compassion, such character development. And then there is the other side of the book, the action. I honestly read this book in one night, straight through. I just kept turning, and turning, and turning. I never thought about healing in terms of fighting before this book, so that was an interesting take. I mean you could honestly drop a piano on her and she would get through it. Wouldn't that be nice.
Finally there is Daniel, a good boy, who treats Ada with nothing, but respect and kindness. It is a beautiful romance from the beginning, when awkward years turn cheeks red. All in all, Ada is a fantastic book with some great points to talk about. To this end, there are questions in the back of the book that work well for book clubs, or one-on-one conversations. |
